New SportsPress Theme: Marquee

Last week, we announced the SportsPress 2.0 update with support for the WordPress REST API. SportsPress Pro customers also received an update including a new module and animated Match Stats. The third announcement was the launch of SportsPress for Baseball, a free extension that adds baseball-specific functionality to SportsPress.

To showcase it all, we also released our new SportsPress theme: Marquee. This new theme, like all our themes, is fully compatible with SportsPress.

The Perfect Baseball Theme

Marquee works with any sport but was built with baseball teams in mind. The minimal yet compelling design is ideal for stats-obsessed teams and leagues that want to track and display their sports data.

And because it’s powered by SportsPress, features like league tables, game schedules, and box scores will look pixel-perfect straight out of the box.

Page Templates

Different page templates can be applied to each page on your site to achieve the desired layout. Additionally, you can select a template to use for each SportsPress post type like events and player profiles.

Default Template

This standard layout lets the main content take up 2/3 of the width with a sidebar on the right (or left, for right-to-left languages).

Full Width Template

A sidebar-less layout to bring all of the attention to the main content of the page. Useful for pages with lots of horizontal data, like a detailed leaderboard.

Homepage Template

Widgetized, both in the sidebar and in the main content area. The homepage widgets can be selected from the Widgets page in the dashboard, under Appearance.

Additional Features

Marquee comes packed with 3 custom features that are exclusive to our premium themes: Mega Slider, Social Sidebar, and News Widget. Each of these features are designed to enhance your sports team website.

Mega Slider

Create image sliders for your homepage or add them to any other page using shortcodes and widgets. Each image slider can be customized to animate every 5 seconds (or a custom period). You can also select the categories to get posts from, and the number of posts to display in each slider.

Social Sidebar

Add a floating sidebar for fans to quickly visit your social profiles. Select up to 37 different social networks, each with an icon and color scheme. Choose from 5 different styles (Classic, Minimal, Flat, Material and Buttons) and position (Left or Right).

News Widget

News widgets can be added to any widget area, or to content areas using shortcodes. Use it to add articles to your sidebar, or to design dynamic layouts for your club news.
