How to Create Player Ranking Charts in SportsPress
SportsPress uses League Tables for grouping together team data to display the current league (team) standings.
For players, SportsPress uses player lists for gathering players to create and display team rosters and player rankings on your website.
In this video, you’ll learn how to use a SportsPress player list to create a Top Goal Scorers chart, which is a list of players, ranked based on the number of goals they’ve scored during a season.

Creating a New Player List
Let’s create a player ranking chart using SportsPress.
We’re going to go into our dashboard, then hover over Players and click Player Lists. We’re going to create a new one, so we’ll click Add New.
Selecting Columns
We’ll call this one Top Goal Scorers. Let’s scroll down to the Columns section and select the columns that we want to show, like Goals, Assists, Yellow Cards, Red Cards, and Appearances.
Selecting Details
Let’s scroll down to Details and select a Competition and a Season. We’ll select a column under “Sort by”, in this case this should be Goals. The sort order should be Descending because we want to sort players from the most to least goals. We can leave Players set to Auto, and click Publish.
Displaying Rank and Team
We can see all the players that have been added automatically, sorted by number of goals. We’ll also want to click the checkboxes at the top to show their rank and team. Let’s click Update and view the player list.
Now we have a Top Goal Scorers chart. We can repeat this to create other player ranking charts sorted by any other statistic that we are measuring in SportsPress.
