That’s why it’s crucial that you make your website easily recognizable so visitors immediately make the connection between your team and your site. One of the best ways to achieve that is to incorporate your team’s colors and logo into your site’s design.

In this post, we’ll talk about branding your team’s website by customizing the colors of your theme, your dashboard, and your login screen.

Why Branding Matters

Before we go into details about branding your website, let’s briefly cover the importance of branding.

Branding is the perfect way to differentiate yourself from all the other sports teams who compete in the same sport. It allows you convey your team’s core values and share your team’s personality. It helps your fans to understand what makes you different and in the long term, your unique brand will help you attract more sponsors who will feel they can stand behind your message.

Another way branding can benefit you in the long term is the fact that a consistent brand increases trust and loyalty. When your fans feel they can build a connection with you, they are more inclined to continue following your team’s journey and support you along the way.

It’s a long term strategy with many benefits so it pays off to spend a few minutes branding your website.

How to Brand Your Theme

The most obvious place to start is to incorporate your team’s brand into your theme. The easiest way to do so is to upload your logo and then customize the color scheme to match the colors of your team.

Depending on the theme you’re using, the customization settings will be located on the theme settings page or in the WordPress Live Customizer under Appearance > Customize. If you’re using one of our themes, you’ll be able to change the colors with the Live Customizer.

Go to Appearance > Customize and click on the Colors tab. If you know the hex code for your team’s colors, you can enter it for the background or the widget background color. You can also tweak the colors for your header and widget headings.

When you’re done tweaking the colors, click on Site Identity tab. Here, you can upload your team’s logo and the favicon for your site.

Finally, keep in mind that you can also upload a background image for your site in the Background Image tab.

Another way to customize the colors is to use our SportsPress plugin. Installing this plugin will add a myriad of features that make creating a sports-themed website straightforward and intuitive. Once this plugin is installed, all you need to do is go to SportsPress > Settings > General and tweak the colors under Scripts and Styles.

How to Add Multiple Club Logos

If you manage multiple teams, you can upload a logo for each team you manage. Go to Teams and select one of the teams on the All Teams page. Click the Edit link and scroll all the way down to find a box that says Team Logo.

You can upload an image in a PNG format that’s at least 300px wide. Update the page and the team logo will be visible on the team page as well as the event pages and some widgets. Registered users on your website will be able to see the logo displayed next to the team name in the list view.

In a similar fashion, you can customize team pages with their colors with Team Color module. This allows each team under your management to have branded pages so their fans can easily recognize them.

Now you can edit all the teams on your site and customize their colors. Go to Teams and select the team you wish to edit. Click the Edit icon and you’ll notice a new box that allows you to enter the hex codes for primary color, headings, background, text, and links.

When you’re done making changes, click Update to make them appear on your team’s pages. They will also be visible on player profiles as well as events, calendars, player lists, and staff profiles.

Branding The Admin Area
